Popular Scrapbooking Website to Host 4-Day Premier Educational Convention

Kansas City, MO July 9, 2004 -- The popular scrapbooking website OneScrappySite.com will be hosting an exciting and educational event, October 14th-17th 2004, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the KCI Expo Center. One Scrappy Event (OSE) promises to be a fun four-day educational experience, where 300 scrapbookers will gather for an opportunity to expand their knowledge and improve their skills. OSE's dedicated learning environment will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn from, and work with, widely recognized industry professionals in an energizing environment.

Starring over 12 teachers from across the country, and featuring 60 classes, OSE will allow participants to enjoy four days of fun and educational activities. From Thursday night until Sunday morning, attendees will spend their time in hands-on classes, nightly "crop" parties, and participating in manufacturer-sponsored demos & activities. "Our goal," explains event organizer Angie Pedersen, "is for participants to leave each class feeling comfortable and confident in their understanding of class material. We've planned enough class time so students and instructors can really explore and discuss class content. We also want people leave feeling really motivated, so when they sit down to scrapbook, they will have new ideas and techniques at their fingertips."

At OSE participants can expect to step beyond the standard layout class. Featured classes pair the latest techniques & products with thought-provoking ideas to help inspire scrapbookers to create distinctive, meaningful albums. "We've brought in some of the best scrapbooking instructors in the country for this event," says Pedersen. "They're known for their teaching style, and creative skills. OSE students will leave knowing they've been taught by the best." The list of instructors reads like a Who's Who in Scrapbooking, featuring award-winning scrapbookers like Nia Reddy, Sarah Ackerman-Hale, Jennifer Wohlenberg, Nancy Walker, Wanda Thornton, Holle Wiktorek, Angie Pedersen, Leslie McFarlane, Cindy Johnson, & Lisa Bakowski.

Part of what will make this event different is the OSE-exclusive MeTeacher Certification workshop, to be held on Thursday afternoon. Based on the popular The Book of Me by Angie Pedersen, this 6-hour intensive workshop will provide participants everything they need to teach Book of Me classes! The workshop is geared toward scrapbooking and journaling instructors, scrapbooking store owners, and independent consultants. Designed by author Angie Pedersen herself, this program explains all the core elements of The Book of Me philosophy, as well as providing concrete examples for class topics and projects. One Scrappy Event is the only venue available for MeTeacher Certification.
